Fines in Dubai are tightly linked to your vehicle plate, driving licence and Emirates ID. Unpaid penalties can lead to black points, vehicle impoundment and blocked registration renewal. That is why it is important to check fines in Dubai regularly, especially if you rent a car or drive between emirates.
On the Dubai Police website: open the Traffic Services or Traffic Fines Inquiry section, choose how you want to search (vehicle plate, driving licence, traffic file, or Emirates ID), enter the required details, and click Search. View the list of fines including date, location, amount, and black points. Click on a fine to see more details or proceed to payment.
Not all fines are issued directly by Dubai Police. Some are connected with the RTA, especially for public transport, taxis, Salik or vehicle registration. Use the RTA Dubai website or RTA Dubai/Dubai Drive app. Smart kiosks and Customer Happiness Centres also allow in-person inquiry and payment.
If you hold a UAE residence visa, fines can be linked to your Emirates ID — check via the Dubai Police app or Dubai Now app using UAE Pass. Overstay and visa fines are usually connected to your passport number and can be checked via GDRFA or ICP immigration portals.
